The League Prize is an annual competition that has been organized by The Architectural League since 1981. Open to designers ten years or less out of school, it draws entrants from around North America.

The 2022 theme, Grounding, asked entrants to reflect on the substance of design’s foundations. How do young architects tether their work and practices to the grounds upon which they design? How can designers respond to both the particularities of location and the ubiquity of global forces? What are intentional approaches to and forms of grounding?

The Citygroup and Departamento del Distrito's presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A with 2022 Young Architects + Designers Committee member Gabriel Cuéllar. Cuéllar is a co-founder of Cadaster and a professor-in-practice at the University of Minnesota.
