The League’s First Friday events are informal social gatherings that allow members to visit the offices of leading design practices and see work on the boards.
This season’s events feature practices navigating the legacies and possibilities of American infrastructure, from ecological systems and transit hubs to community facilities and social networks.
Buro Happold is a practice of engineers and consultants with a global network of 2,200 staff members across over 30 offices. Founded in 1976 in the United Kingdom, the practice opened its first U.S. office in New York City in 1998.
Buro Happold’s work spans many sectors, including air and rail; commercial; culture and education; healthcare; science and technology; sports and entertainment; and urban development. In its own words, the practice offers a “multidisciplinary, technically integrated approach to engineering design, consultancy, and advisory services.”
In-person First Friday events are open only to current League members.
