Do Ho Suh turns everyday objects into spectres. Exploring the themes of anti-monumentalism, domesticity, memory and the boundaries of space, the Korean artist’s new show at Lehmann Maupin will include a monumental installation composed of hundreds of the artist’s Specimens (detailed fabric replicas of household objects, from doorknobs to bath fittings). Elsewhere, Suh will debut a large-scale sculpture created in collaboration with a robotics team that confronts the role of public monuments.
