Saint Marks Place emerges out of our unique contemporary relation to precedent and to the site specific historical context of Boerum Hill Brooklyn. Its architecture is rooted in our collective memory but, driven by a rigorous modernism of the present with its planning and programming motivated by the future of residential design. Saint Marks Place, is inspired by the past, but looks to the future. Here historical references are wrung through a filter of a clean and essential modernism which produces a mash-up that speaks to the forward thinker who refuses to forget the past. Saint Marks place is a memory palace.
