Spring 2022 Series:

The Design Discovery Spring 2022 series will focus on fundamental architectural design skills. Each workshop focuses on a different core lesson that will help high school students explore their interest in architecture as well as hone a skill that will be helpful for portfolio development. These workshops are open to all levels of architecture and art experience. Attend all four sessions for an opportunity to round out all skills, or just select the workshops that appeal most to you!

Architectural Perspective Drawing:

In this session, we will explore the basics of perspective drawing to render exterior and interior architectural spaces. Students will be introduced to different types of perspective drawing and will learn how to locate vanishing points and horizon lines on existing architectural images. Students will then visit sites virtually to sketch a perspective drawing of their own choosing.

Materials Needed: Pencil, drawing paper (9” x 12” or larger recommended), and eraser. If you would like to experiment with slightly more sophisticated drawing materials, we would suggest an 11” x 14” drawing sketch pad, two pencils of varying weights (one HB pencil and one softer pencil 2B, 3B or 4B), and a white polymer or vinyl eraser.
